Speaking

I have extensive experience of delivering training sessions, presenting conference seminars and keynote speaking at corporate events and conferences alike. I have always preferred interactive training styles, including lots of discussion and questions. When speaking I am comfortable presenting to all sizes of groups from under 10 to 300+ and am experienced in events ranging from small team sessions to large conferences. I prefer a more casual style and include many anecdotes and observations throughout my presentations. I have a natural wit which whilst occasionally bordering on the surreal, usually hits the mark and laughter is a common feature of my sessions, mostly for the right reasons.  When I speak or present you do not just get a scripted performance but one which may include spontaneous anecdotes, relevant digressions and off the cuff customisation to suit your needs.

“I have known Dave for a number of years as he has been a regular speaker at our Business Analysis conference.  The reason he has been a regular speaker is because he has always done such a great job presenting for us with our delegates often scoring him a 10 out of 10 for both content and speaking style.  The most frequent comment from delegates about David is that he is truly inspirational!”

The Power of Change

My most popular keynote presentation is ‘The Power of Change’ in which I discuss my career in change, my diagnosis with Parkinsons’s Disease at the age of 43, how it affected me, what I have learnt since then and how it has helped me. The presentation also covers what change is, why it impacts us in the way it does and two models of the process; the Change Curve and the Hero’s Journey. The speech is intended to be motivational and uplifting and is suitable for corporate conferences, team-building events, or any other event where organisational transformation or personal change is being discussed.

Please note that due to the physical symptoms and unpredictable nature of Parkinson’s Disease you may get me presenting when I am ‘on’ medication or ‘off’ medication. If I’m in the latter condition I may need a chair to present from and assistance with setting up my laptop etc. If I’m in the former condition I may be bouncing off the walls!
