Team Building/Motivational
The Power of Change – 50 minutes, Keynote Speech
Change is a force that acts on all aspects of life and business and is a constant feature of life. It cannot be resisted but you can develop change resilience and ultimately grow as a result of the transformation. Whilst in most cases the need for change is a positive one it can be an unsettling and even frightening experience. Having spent his career in IT change delivery David thought he knew all there was to be known about the change process on an intellectual and professional level. However, when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2010, he began a new emotional journey of understanding. In this seminar he will explain the personal impact this had on him and how it has deepened his understanding of the way change works. In his own uniquely humorous way David will reveal his experience of Parkinson’s Disease, explore the nature of change, the effect it has on people and the lessons he has learnt from his journey. He will share his own thoughts and philosophy on what motivates him, the inspirational figures who have guided him and how he has applied this to his work and personal life.
He will discuss:
- Parkinson’s disease and the personal impact it has had on him
- What is change and why do we fear it?
- Two change models; the Change Curve and The Hero’s Journey
- Why it is important to find your motivational centre
- The importance of leaving a legacy
This presentation will resonate with several different audiences, namely:
People or organisations going through transformation
People or organisations that facilitate change
People or organisations in need of inspiration/motivation
People or organisations with a direct interest in Parkinson’s Disease
People or organisations who have an interest in Diversity issues
This presentation is available as a stand-alone key-note speech for corporate or commercial events. It also forms the core of the Power of Change programme available through ChuDo Consulting and is a pre-requisite for any of the programmes listed below.

They are comprised of a series of presentations and facilitated workshop sessions that together aim to assist the development of change resilience. They can either be delivered at your location, at a neutral training venue or remotely via the internet.
The Power of Personal Change – 1 day

Building Powerful Teams 3-5 days
This programme explores how teams can create their own values, rituals and language to create a powerful team with clear purpose. It is aimed at all leaders and team members and is designed to be a shared experience. This programme works best if spread out over a series of sessions as the lessons learned may require reflection time to bed into the team.
It includes:
- Initial consultation with client to understand the situation
- ‘The Power of Change’ key-note – ideally delivered at a team event to establish credibility
- Understanding what’s important to the team
- Creating a value map for the team
- Introducing powerful rituals that reinforce the team and build a community
- Understanding how language is important in creating a powerful culture
- Agreeing how the team wishes to communicate
- Constructing a shared vision/purpose
- Making sure the vision/purpose complements the existing organisational culture
- Optional personalised feedback and coaching to the team leaders in terms of their communication/ leadership style
Moon Landing – variable timing, facilitated exercise and presentation F2F only
- This exercise is a guided facilitation for teams that build on the two sessions above. The end product is a unique animated presentation deck that provides an inspiring and positive message to the client team. During a series of guided discussions the facilitator will collate the team’s thoughts and words into a template powerpoint animation that is then played back to the team at the conclusion of the session. Seeing their own words as part of a powerful message can prove very uplifting and inspirational for a team and can lead to greater sense of purpose, morale and job satisfaction. A copy of the animation is then given to the team to help them on their onward journey.

Managing Change – 3.5 hours, Workshop F2F only
This workshop takes the delegates through some of the concepts introduced in ‘The Power of Change’ whilst allowing greater exploration of them on a personal level. The session examines the common perception of change, how this can be utilised in a positive rather than negative manner, common change blockers, dealing with imposed change and many other ways of developing change resilience.
Building Powerful Teams – 50 minutes, presentation F2F/remote
This presentation utilises some of the themes from the Power of Change to allow you to build a team based on the values that are important to the team-members. It’s Not Rocket Science – 50 minutes, presentation F2F/remote
This presentation is designed to allow teams to consider what their purpose and value is whilst also considering how they interact with others to obtain maximum effectiveness. Using the example of the early stages of the NASA Moon Landing Programme the delegates will learn what can go tragically wrong when teams don’t communicate clearly and align their values.
Transforming Your Business – 50 minutes, presentation F2F/remote Drawing from 30+ years of work experience this session looks at organisational transformation and its unfortunate propensity for failure. It examines the potential reasons for this unfortunate situation and discusses what could be done differently, advocating an inclusive rather than command and control model of communication. This session is designed to appeal to a target audience of senior managers, mid-level managers and team leaders. It discusses alternative methods of delivering change in a slightly tongue-in-cheek manner in order to provoke debate
“David’s programme brought a common purpose to our Sales and relationship team by helping the team find the areas of value both at work and in their personal lives. The style David brought to the sessions encouraged freedom of expression in a way that left the group motivated to focus on the positive areas of what they could control. The conclusion was a team that has over achieved on every objective set over the last 18 months and with increases in performance well beyond the usual 1% increments seen in “regular” development programmes. The team is now able to create ideas and challenges with self-regulated discipline, based on a purpose and set of common values that drives the group forward and creates a sense of resilience and maturity for which any leader can be proud.”
